original first printing
billboard-size concert poster advertising legendary
Grateful Dead
at the Festhalle in Frankfurt [Germany] on Monday, 22nd October, 1990, presented by Marek Lieberberg. The show in Frankfurt was part of the Dead’s Fall 1990 European tour in support of the newly released
Without A Net
album. Recorded live in late 1989 and early 1990, the album was produced by John Cutler and Phil Lesh. It is dedicated to Clifton Hanger, a name Brent Mydland used to sign in hotel guestbooks. Mydland died of a drug overdose on 26th July, 1990 during this album’s post-production. The album was certified Gold by the RIAA on 27th November, 1990. The Grateful Dead were pretty much an American phenomenon, and for some reason never really made it big in Europe.
The poster is HUGE and measures a massive 84.0 x 118.5 cm (approx. 33.1" by 46.7" inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, matte-coated paper stock. There are a few crease marks to the right side border, else in excellent unfolded condition, ready to frame.
