This updated lock nut kit will work on both the 2wd and 4wd versions of the Dodge V10 & Diesel NV4500.
A common failure with the Dodge New Venture 4500 transmissions is the 5th gear backing off the mainshaft resulting in the loss of 5th gear. The set screws lock down on to the mainshaft to help prevent the nut from backing off.
You can identify this transmission in a Dodge by C-18157 or C23167 casting # with an iron case & aluminum top cover.
It is highly recommended that for the 4x4 version to use the specially made retainer that fits on the mainshaft between the transmission & transfer case to eliminate any chance of the nut ever coming loose again.
